A simple sketch of the idea to inscribe an ancient Egyptian alabaster vessel with a message that means a lot to me. To bring it to life and connect it to the present, I’ve placed thin twigs with delicate blue blossoms inside it.
Anyone who thought they could just sketch a pyramid and then color it in watercolor didn’t take into account the correct angle needed to make the pyramid look like it’s actually standing in Egypt. If it’s too steep, it looks like a pointed cap. If it’s too flat, it’s more reminiscent of cookie dough drops melting on the baking sheet while baking.
It took me a while to get the hang of it.
